The Gulf Breeze Optimist Club (GBOC) is a civic organization of men and women who raise and distribute funds for youth and community projects. The group meets every Wednesday morning for a breakfast meeting at 6:45am (Breakfast starts at 7:00am) St. Ann's Catholic Church, Parish Hall.  Everyone is welcome. As a part of Optimist International, GBOC operates as a 501 (c) (3) organization under the US tax code and sponsors three major fund raisers annually.

For more than 49 years, the GBOC Family Fishing Rodeo, has been held the first weekend after Mother's Day. The tournament annually raises more than $23,000 to go back into the community.

For more than 15 years, the GBOC Golf Tournament has operated as a four-person scramble, best ball event. The event is a fund raiser and is traditionally held on a Friday in October. All Corporate sponsors play for free.
 
Almost since the beginning of the club, more than 50 years ago, Gulf Breeze Optimists have sold Christmas Trees in Gulf Breeze. Sales usually raise approximately $32,000, all of which is returned to the community for youth programs. Corporate Sponsors receive a free tree. 

The annual budget provides approximately $72,000 to youth projects yearly, $27,000 goes directly to the six schools in our area.
