The Gulf Breeze Optimist Club (GBOC) is a civic organization of men and women who raise and distribute funds for youth and community projects. The group meets every Wednesday morning for a breakfast meeting at 6:45am (Breakfast starts at 7:00am) St. Ann's Catholic Church, Parish Hall.  Everyone is welcome. As a part of Optimist International, GBOC operates as a 501 (c) (3) organization under the US tax code and sponsors three major fund raisers annually.

For more than 40 years, the GBOC Fishing Rodeo, has been held the first weekend after Mother's Day. The tournament annually raises more than $25,000 to go back into the community.

For more than 15 years, the GBOC Golf Tournament has operated as a team, best ball event. The event is a fund raiser and is traditionally held on a Friday in October.

Since the beginning of the club, more than 50 years ago, Gulf Breeze Optimists have sold Christmas Trees in Gulf Breeze. Sales usually raise approximately $12,000, all of which is returned to the community for youth programs.

Excess dues are added to the funds raised by projects and donated back to the community. The annual budget provides approximately $45,000 to youth projects.
